Dutch painter, graphic artist and sculptor of the 20th century. Worked as a baker's assistant and in the mine. Studied at the drawing school in Heerlen and at the ABC Teekenschule in Amsterdam. Autodidact painter. Member of the artists' association Haagse Kunstkring and the association Studio Pulchri. He studied Wilhelm Reich, Carl Gustav Jung, Sigmund Freud, Arthur Schopenhauer, Friedrich Nietzsche and Far Eastern Zen philosophy. Created expressive paintings, drawings and graphics with social themes around the hard life of workers, devoted to the oppressed and poor and interpersonal themes such as love, partnership and motherhood.
