Marta Palmieri moulds a fragile clay skin, creating vessels that evoke excavation finds, empty cocoons of silkworms, extinguished craters, wineskins and saddlebags on the road to Damascus. Inside these earthen wombs, his imprints impressed in the clay reveal the slow workmanship, while the outer skin, abraded with the spatula, absorbs marks given like caresses.
