Oil, canvas; size: 54 x 46 cm; signed l.d.: Antoni Kamieński 1893. On the back, the author's signature and the stamp of the Paris art materials warehouse.
The work depicts a Parisian courtyard at 14 avenue du Maine, where S. Wyspianski, J. Mehoffer, A. Szybalski and K. Laszczka lived and worked side by side. Laszczka. After Wyspianski's sudden departure from Paris, Laszczka took up residence in his atelier. Kamienski and Laszczka attended the Académie Julian together in 1891 to a sculpture class taught by Antoni Mercie. The artists maintained close relations with the Polish literary and artistic community active in the French capital (with Zenon Przesmycki, Władysław Ślewiński). An artistic record of these meetings is the drawing made by Antoni Kamienski in 1893 "Artists", depicting the interior of the studio with images of Polish artists of the circle, reproduced in "Tygodnik Ilustrowany" in 1896. In the MNW there is a portrait of Laszczka made in 1892 by Kamieński.
