Designed by Otto Hamerani (signed beneath the bust).
Maria was betrothed to the son of the deposed King of England, whose opponents orchestrated her abduction. They imprisoned her at Ambras Castle in Innsbruck, but thanks to the efforts of Irish officers, she managed to escape. Transported to Bologna, she married her fiancé by proxy. The actual ceremony took place on September 3, 1719, in Montefascone, Italy.
