An interesting and rare club badge of the Association of Officials of the Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego, associated with the Lviv community of employees of one of the most important financial institutions of the Second Polish Republic.
The National Economy Bank (BGK) was established in 1924 at the initiative of Prime Minister and Minister of Treasury Władysław Grabski through the merger of three Galician financial institutions: the Polish National Bank, the State Bank for Reconstruction, and the Lesser Poland Cities Credit Facility. As a state-owned bank, BGK played a significant role in financing the economic reconstruction and modernization of the Second Polish Republic, supporting infrastructure, industrial, and housing investments, among other projects.
In Lviv, BGK had one of its most important branches, operating in the former National Bank building on Kościuszki Street. Professional and social organizations also developed among the bank's numerous employees, as evidenced by the badge on display.
Rectangular badge made of metal with white enamel. A red enamel heart is in the center.
