The first dated coin minted on Polish soil.
A distinctive issue by the future King of Poland, Sigismund Jagiellon, then Duke of Głogów.
It is iconographically very interesting, as it does not refer to the city where it was minted, but rather to the Crown of the Kingdom of Poland (the Eagle) and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania (the Pogoń). The edge inscription reads: “Sigismund, Prince of Głogów, son of Casimir, King of Poland.”
Rare.
Minting imperfections characteristic of this issue, here in the form of a distinct line of incomplete striking (the result of a poorly prepared blank). Heavier surface wear in front of the Pogoń. At the same time, the natural luster of the background is preserved, which is quite rare for these groszy.
