oil, canvas 90 x 60 cm
He lived from 1951 to 2021. He had no art education, but its absence did not hinder his relentless passion for painting, to which he devoted most of his life.
The language of his work is primarily color, play of light, search for form and play with texture. One looks in vain for a visible line, expressive shapes or overzealous detail. The rich texture of the paintings hides countless hours of searching for the right result. Or is it also about the proper refraction of light on thickly laid paint?
He was inspired by the paintings of the Capists, Jan Cybis, Paul Cezanne, Paul Gauguin and Pablo Picasso. His works often changed, new layers and elements appeared,
were created for a long time during many sessions, the paintings evolved for years, morphing.
This is private art, a dialogue between artist and matter. He took part in several group exhibitions in Warsaw. However, he did not seek publicity or recognition, he simply painted in every spare moment.
